Elisabeth Won Sohn was born on 4-17-04 at 5:23pm. She was 19.5 inches long, and weighed 7lbs, 7ozs. Best of all, she was perfectly healthy, and the delivery went without much complication. She had a full head of hair, all ten toes and all ten fingers (we know because David kept counting) and was even eating within 10 minutes of birth. She's such a little joy to us, and we thank you for all your prayers for her.

What's in a name? Originally, we thought about the name "Talitha", which means "little girl" in Aramaic. There was a time early on in the pregnancy when we feared we lost her. We read from the Bible then a parable where Jesus wakes a girl thought to be dead but only sleeping by saying, "Arise, Talitha." When we had the ultrasound that showed her doing the back strokes, we just about bounced off the walls in happiness.

Elisabeth's birthname means "I pledge to God" because we are so thankful for her. She also has a great Korean name, given by David's parents: Mi Gon. which means Beautiful Dragon.

"Hello world!"
A Baby's Life... Here's Elisabeth reflecting after a hard day of sleeping, growing, nursing and protesting during diaper changes. She even got her blood tested for bilirubin. Hard work for someone just 4 days old!

It's hard work being a baby!
